About Dan Hyun

Dan Hyun serves pastors, churches, and organizations through leadership development and spiritual formation. His work focuses on helping leaders navigate complexity with clarity, health, and long-term faithfulness.

Dan currently serves as the Director of Formation and Health with the Baptist Convention of Maryland and Delaware, where he supports pastors and congregations across diverse ministry contexts. His work includes coaching, teaching, and facilitating formation experiences that address both the inner life and the practical realities of ministry leadership.

In addition to his denominational leadership, Dan founded and launched The Village Church in Baltimore, Maryland in 2008, where he served in pastoral leadership and gained firsthand experience in congregational development, organizational leadership, and cross-cultural intelligence within an urban ministry context.

With experience in pastoral ministry, nonprofit leadership, and organizational support, Dan brings a thoughtful and grounded approach to leadership development. He is particularly attentive to the pressures pastors face in sustaining vision, health, and integrity over time.

Dan is based in Baltimore and works with leaders locally and nationally.

Dan’s background includes pastoral ministry, leadership development, and formation work across denominational and organizational settings. His current role with the Baptist Convention of Maryland and Delaware allows him to support pastors and churches throughout the region as they navigate leadership development, congregational health, and mission.

In addition to speaking and formation work, Dan is a writer exploring themes related to leadership, faith, formation, and ministry life.

Dan lives in Baltimore with his wife and two daughters. He is committed to supporting leaders in ways that are sustainable, faithful, and grounded in both spiritual depth and practical wisdom.
